Erected/to the memory of/BARBARA MACINTOSH/the beloved wife of/ROBERT MACKENZIE Balblair Edderton/who died 7th March 1882 aged 49 years/also of the said/KENNETH MACINTOSH/died 29th April 1893 aged 24 years.

Thank you for your efforts in photographing the stones. This stone is of my ancestors. However, the transcription is not correct and the details would be an added help in recording their correct information. It shows Barbara Macintosh, Robert Mackenzie and also Kenneth Mackenzie, their son - who was 24 yrs at death. I would appreciate details from the stone and location, for my next visit back to Scotland. Regards, Keith

Thanks Roddie for your reply. However, I have checked with Scotland's People and I have the details. I believe the stone inscription should read as follows: Erected/to the memory of/BARBARA MACINTOSH/the beloved wife of/ROBERT MACKENZIE Balblair, Edderton/who died 7 March 1882 age 49 years/also of the said/ROBERT MACKENZIE/died 22 Oct 1892 age 67 years/and their son/KENNETH/died 1 April 1893 age 24 years.
According to Scotland's People the death dates are correct. Barbara was actually, 53 years of age at her death and Robert was 67 years of age (not able to discern Robert's age shown on the stone) . Kenneth was 24 years of age.
