Sacred to the memory of/GEORGE ALEXANDER N. MONRO/Sub. Lieu. 4th King's Own Royal Regt./youngest much loved son of/DAVID MONRO of Allan & ELIZABETH URQUHART his wife/He died at Gosport 5th May 1874/aged 21 years. Deeply lamented & esteemed by all his/brother officers for his many qualities & to the grief of his sorrowing/parents 7 family.
We live in deeds not years/in feelings, not figures on a dial.
He most lives who feels the noblest, acts the best.

Also in memory of/KATE ELIZABETH/aged 4 years/the beloved child of/JAMES JERVIS GREGORY Commander RN/and KATE MONRO, his wife/died at Allan 20th August 1874/Of such is the Kingfdom of Heaven.
In loving memory of/DAVID MONRO of Allan J.P, D.L./who died 18th Decr 1893 aged 85 years/also of ELIZABETH BENNET, his beloved wife/who died 20th Augt 1891, aged 77 years/also of LEILA ELIZABETH their eldest daughter/who died 21st Augt 1888, aged 57 years/who are buried here.
