Erected by/JOSEPH ALLAN/police sergeant Cromarty/in memory of his children/WILLIAM died at Avoch/3 Dec. 1876/aged 4 years and 4 months/JOSEPHINE died at Fortrose/16 Feb. 1889/aged 2 years and 7 months/also of their daughter/ELIZA CATHERINE/who died at Cromarty/24 May 1905 aged 23 years.



Deeply mourned and sadly missed.



and also of his beloved wife/ELIZA SHANKS/who died suddenly at the Library Tain on/1 Apr. 1916 aged 66 years/deeply mourned and sadly missed/also the said JOSEPH ALLAN/who died at the Library Tain/on the 10 September 1933 aged 82 years/and their daughter ANNE/who died at Tain 28th March 1942/aged 64 years.
