Erected by DAVID/WATSON schoolmaster Cromarty/in memory of his son/JOHN a fine boy who died/in the fifth year of his/age 21 March 1811/Also in memory of/The Revd DAVID WATSON parish/school master Cromarty who dep/arted this life on the 13th day of/September 1851 in the 71st year of his/age. Deeply regretted by his sorrow/ing family and friends

And also in memory of/his spouse/BARBARA TOUGH/who died on the 11th of February/1855 in the 85th year of her age

also their son Dr ALEXANDER TOUGH WATSON/who died in Dresden in 1898/and his first wife HANNAH WATSON/who died in New York in 1842/also their daughter/MARGARET BRUCE/who died at Peterhead Feb 18th 1884 aged/83years.
