Could this be the headstone for Murdoch Chisholm who died at Cornhill, Kerrisdale in 1852 age 62? His wife was Isabella Fraser (daughter of Simon Fraser and Catherine Matheson) and the headstone was erected by Murdoch's son Simon. I wonder if it is located near other Chisholm or Fraser headstones.

Don't know, Ann. The facing on the stone, which had the inscription, as you can see is almost complete eroded away. The museum in Gairloch holds a manuscript of a survey done some years earlier. It's possible that they may be able to help you if that survey caught an fuller version.

Thank you Roddie. I'll email the museum and see. I found the 1852 entry in the pre 1855 monumental inscription book. I just noticed I have the wrong wife for Simon Fraser, should be Catherine McPherson.
