By chance does anyone know what is written on this stone? I am looking for my ancestor David Ross of Cromarty. His grandsons obituary in Canada in 1896 noted that David was from "East End" Cromarty. Also, David's son John Ross was born in Cromarty in 1792. So this David would have been born at least before 1774 and died sometime after 1792.

Thank you for checking Roddie :) I hope one day to visit Cromarty. My ancestor, David Ross, was born in the same room as Hugh Miller, according to his 1896 obituary. It seems like such a beautiful place.
