Their youngest child, Alexander, who erected the stone, married Robina Menzies (whose father was the Innkeeper at Altnacealgach Inn, By Lairg Sutherlandshire)in Ullapool in June 1856.
They came to Australia for their 'honeymoon', saying if they didn't like it, they would come back.
I guess they liked it, as they had 10 children, & stayed.
I visited Ullapool & the surrounding areas in June 2000, & 'accidentally' booked into a B & B owned by previously unknown relatives.
Hector McDonald of Dromnan Guest House is my mother's 3rd cousin.
Oh, and wasn't that a wonderful bonus to our trip.
Cheers, Jeanette Bonnici (nee Henderson) Australia
