Sacred/to the memory of/JAMES ELLISON/who died at Tain on the 3rd day of/OCTOBER 1827 aged 63.



This stone is placed over his remains/by his affectionate wife/ISABELLA BAIN/in remembrnce of whom it is now/placed by her mourning family/she departed this life at/Edinburgh April 1857 aged 66/and is interred in/Dalry Cemetery.

and of their son/ALEXANDER/who died 1st March 1889/and their daughter/JESSIE/who died 20th February 1900.
