In loving memory of/PETER WILSON Esq./late rector/of the Tain Royal Academy/and formerly/Professor of Mathematics/and Natural Philosophy/in the Andersonian Institution/Glasgow/born at Stitchen near Kelso/he died at Moorfarm near Tain/13th August 1854/aged 48 years/beloved and respected as a citizen/eminently as a teacher and scholar/his death was deplored/as a public loss/a few of his sorrowing friends/have erected/this humble pedestal/over his remains.
