Erected by/the Free Church congregation of Resolis/in token of their esteem/to the memory of/their beloved pastor/The Revr DONALD SAGE/born in the manse at Kildonan 1789/translated/from Aberdeen to Resolis 1822/left the establishment with a large/and attached congregation 1845/entered his rest 31st March 1869/descended from a race distinguisherd/for godliness & abilty. In his own soul he felt the influence/of the truth which he preached to others/and especially shone as afaithful, able/& successful minister/of the new testament/"For to me to live in Chrst is to die/in gain" Phil.1.21.
[LHS] Also in memory of/Mr THOMAS INGLIS/who having discharged the/pastoral office in this parsh/for 33 years died there/on the 27th day of July 1747/and in the 64th year of his age/I have fought a good fight/I have finished my course/II Tim.4.7 & 8.
[RHS] and of the holy man of God and/faithful servant/of Jesus Christ/Mr HECTOR McPHAIL/minister of the gospel for this parish/who died 23rd January 1774/aged 58/Here also is interred the/REVr JOHN MACIVER/Free Church of Resolis/ordained 10th April 1879/and died at Conon/10th June 1922 aged 84/Isaiah 8 & 20.
