Erected/by/the family/of/GEORGE EMMERSON/late coast guard/who died at Speymouth 23 Novr 1871 aged 48 years/and is interred in the cemetery/of Garmouth Morayshire/also to the memory/of their loving mother/MATILDA BOLT EMMERSON/the beloved wife of the above/who died at Cromarty/5th Nov. 1863 aged 36 years/and of their brother/JONATHAN LOUIS EMMERSON/who died in infancy.

This lovely bud so young and fair/called hence by early doom/just came to show how sweet a flower in paradise would bloom.
