Comments

Hugh Mustard (1778-1854), the man who erected this stone, emigrated to Ontario, Canada in the early 1800s (post 1814) with at least 3 of his brothers. Alexander and Ann Mustard had 11 children or more. It is likely that the children mentioned without death dates died in or before the early 1800s, before Hugh left for Canada. It is possible that the word dec'd is used to describe the children, not decent, although it doesn't look much like dec'd on the stone. Also, Alexander and Ann had sons named both William (b. 1765) and Alexander (b.1774)so this line could refer to one son or two. Joseph was born in 1782 and Ann in 1770. The youngest child of Alexander and Ann is commemorated in Rosemarkie Church cemetery on a separate grave stone. His name is David Mustard.
