Erected/by/DANIEL MACIVER/Stittenham/in memory of his affectionate mother/MARGARET GRIGOR/who departed this life/on the/31st December 1835 aged/63 years/also/his father/WILLIAM MACIVER/and to ALEXANDER/who were both unfortunately/drowned in the Ferry of/Fort George on the 12th/December 1806.
