William & John Urquhart

Erected/by/ALEXANDER URQUHART and/MURDOCH URQUHART boatbuilders/in memory of their brother/WILLIAM URQUHART boatbuilder/who died at South Openham, Gairloch/on the 6th Jany 1856/aged 34 years/also their father/JOHN URQUHART/who died 12th November 1848 aged 78 years.

I am researching my ancestry and have an interest in this headstone. My Great Great Grandmother was Elizabeth Urquhart and according to the 1841 Census lived at Algrishan (Aultgrishan)near Gairloch. The names and ages on this stone fit her brothers and Father. Elizabeth was transported to Van Diemens' Land (Tasmania)in 1846 and began our family there. Does anyone have any further information that may confirm that this stone belongs to Elizabeths' family.
