Here lys buried the/body of/WILLIAM MIDDLETON/who departed this life/January 12th 1794 aged/29 years./Here also/are interred/the mortal remains of/GEORGE MIDDLETON/he was born in Northumberland/and beoame a resident in Cromarty/in the year 1797/he there carried on his business as/a general merchant and shipowner and/farmer/in which profession he gave many instances/of a kind & friendly disposition/he departed this life on the/15th August 1840/aged 50 years/also his widow/[....?].
