This is the grave of my gt grandfather Donald Mackenzie. The Grave near it erected by David Mackenzie in memory of his wife Janet Junor is Donald's mother. I do have pictures of the graves taken some years ago. I am glad though they are now on a website. The sons of Donald & Isabella Mackenzie are all buried in South Africa. My grandfather Dr William Mackenzie died aged 38 and his three children returned to England. My father James & his brother William living in Rose Cottage with their grandfather for two years.Margaret Mackenzie stayed in Rose cottage to look after her father when her mother died. Janet the older daughter married Walter Crabtree but when she was widowed, she moved to Avoch to live with her sister. However, Margaret died suddenly in 1958 and Janet returned to live alone at Rose Cottage until she died in 1968.
