Erected/by/ALEXANDER VASS/manufacturer, Strichen/in memory of his grandfather/ALEXANDER VASS/one of the Godly men of Braefindon andfor/many years catechist in Ferntosh and Petty/who died 1828, aged 80 years/also his father DONALD VASS/who died at Auquharney,Aberdeenshire/28th March 1857 aged 65 years/also his uncle CHARLES VASS/who died at Braefindon 1836/aged 40 years/also his cousin ALEX. VASS/who died at Glasgow 11th April 1880/aged 39 years.
