The Strathglass Stone

This stone, without inscription, is reputed to have been carried back from Strathglass for Maurice, Muirach Fail Macrae born 1586.

The History of the Clan Macrae by Rev. Alexander Macrae (Published 1899)contains an account of Muirach Fail's drowning in Strahglass, and his people recovering his body. They are said to have taken this stone, now in two parts, as reprisal for a perceived wrong.
