In/very affectionate/memory of/Mrs BERTHA YOUNG/born April 8th 1872/died July 21st 1962.

July 2010. This gravestone was completely hidden under gorse. (Will try to clear it some day!) It is 'foot-to-head' with the grave of her husband, Charles Florance Young. Bertha (nee Bullough) was the full sister of Sir George Bullough who built Kinloch Castle on the Isle of Rum. She was named after her mother, Bertha (Schmidlin), German by birth but resident of Thun in Switzerland, and latterly of Dresden. Can anyone tell me how Bertha Young came to be buried here?
