erected/by/the Free Church Congregation Knockbain/and friends/in memory of/Rev. FARQUHAR McRAE/Minister in South Uist 8 years,in Braemar,12 years in Knockbain 29 years/and who fell asleep in Jesus/20th December 1882 aged 77 years/an able minister of the New Testament/he walked with God in his generation/now he rests from his labours and/his works do follow him/in memory also/of his devoted spouse/ANNIE MURRAY/who died 7th Augst 1883/aged 61 years/there lies here also/the dust of their children/FARQUHAR FRANCIS and MARY,/who both died in infancy.
