Erected/to/the memory of/DAVID ROSS/late road contractor/Burnside, Tullich.



He was a faithful husband/a dutiful father/and his death was deplored/by a wide circle of friends./He did 14th Sept. 1864/aged 56/also his wife/CATHERINE ROSS died 22 Sept 1873/aged 68 years/and their sons JOHN/died 18 December 1867 aged 34 years/ALEXANDER died 8 April 1874/aged 29 years/and their daughter JESSIE/died 5 October 1920 aged 83 years.
