Sacred to the memory of/Brigadier General Sir WALTER CHARTERIS/ROSS of Cromarty K.B.E., C.B, C.M.G./born 5th August 1857, died at Cromarty 9th/February 1928 and of his wife GERTRUDE MAY/GATHORNE died at Cromarty August 1951.
The souls of the righteous are/in the hand of God. There shall/no evil happen to them. They/are at peace.
