Sacred/to the memory of/The Rev./JOHN A. MACFARLANE/for fifty-two years/minister of this parish/born 3rd February 1832/died 3rd October 1915/in the sixtieth year/of his ministry.
A faithful servant of/Jesus Christ, an earnest/and persuasive preacher/a true and steadfast fried/a devoted and loving husband/and father.
"Brethren, farewell/live in peace and the/God of love and peace/shall be with you."

sacred/also to the memory/of his widow/AGNES GOODSIR/MACFARLANE/born at Duddingstone/26th May 1842/eldest daughter of/Rev. JAMES MACFARLANE DD./minister of that parish/died at Inverness/8th May 1922/ a devoted wife/and beloved mother.
The Lord taketh pleasure/in them that fear him/in those that hope in/his mercy. PS. 147.11.
