Erected to the memory/of/CATHERINE MACDONALD/beloved wife of/WILLIAM GRANT carpenter, Dingwall/died 21st Feby 1903 aged 45 years/and their sons/JOHN, died 9th Jany 1900/aged 13 years/JAMES, died 21st March 1915/aged 26 years/FREDERICK, died 22nd Nov. 1922/aged 23 years/and of the above/WILLIAM GRANT/died 27th Decr 1924, aged 78 years.

William was the only son of Ewen & Margaret (MacRAE) GRANT of East Coulwood, near Strathpeffer Spa, Easter-Ross. He founded the Carpenter-Contractor business of Dingwall. Catherine his wife was the only daughter of James & Catherine (MacLENNAN) MacDONALD, late of Garve and Kinlochluichart respectively.
