Erected by/the people of Lochcarron/and other friends/over the grave of/The Rev. DONALD FORBES/for 40 years minister/of the/Free Church of Lochcarron/a man greatly beloved/and esteemed for his saintly life/for his exclusive devotion/to his master's work, for his sound evangelical/preaching and for the modesty/meekness and gentleness/of his charcter.



He died where he was born/on the 2nd May 1890/aged 77 years.



ELIZABETH NEWTON/his beloved wife, died 24 June 1807/and his daughters/ISABELLA, died 24 September 1875/ELIZABETH, died 28 January 1887/also his son/DONALD died in London 3 Feby. 1896.
