Erected/by/the three surviving members/of his family/to the memory of/NINIAN JEFFREY/son of/GEORGE JEFFREY Newkelso/who died 16th March 1864 aged 78/also in memory of/his sons who are buried here/JOHN MACDONALD JEFFREY/died in infancy/JAMES MACDONALD JEFFREY/died 5 Decr. 1875 aged 58/and in affectionate remembrance/of his son/THOMAS MACKENZIE JEFFREY/who was lost at sea in 1846/aged 18.
