John and Eleanor Elizabeth Shaw were my husband's great-grandparents. John was Procurator-Fiscal of Dingwall. Their surviving, eldest, son John was my husband's grandfather, who seems to have 'dropped out'and married a slater's daughter in Glasgow. Another son, James, survived. Eleanor Elizabeth died in 1887.
