Sacred/to/the memory of/CHRISTOPHER McDONALD Esq./deputy commissary of/Ordinance Calcutta/who departed this life at/Somerville Place, Monteith/Row, Glasgow on the/6th day of March 1830/aged 58 years.
He enlisted the army in 1880/and was actively engaged in the greater number of engage/ments that took place in the/East Indies during the first/half century. He was on a visit/to his native county Ross/shire when he was seized with/the illness which terminate/in his death. Few men have/withstood the climate of the/East for half a century that/were blessed with greater/bodily vigour and perhaps/none have departed leaving/a greater respect behind them for his name and services.
His remains was brought and/interred here by order of his/first cousin/MARGARET McRAE/by whom this mark of respect/is placed over his worthy/remains.

Sacred/to/the memory of/FINLAY McRAE/late cartwright at Kinkell/Parish of Urquhart/who departed this life on the/7th day of May 1840/aged 80 years/and his wife/ANN McKENZIE/who departed this life on/24th day of December 1848/aged 68 years.
This tribute of affection/& respect is placed by their surviving daughter/MARGARET McRAE/who alone claims right to/this enclosure.
