John & Rose (Sullivan) Macdougall.
In loving memory of/The Reverend JOHN MACDOUGALL/B.D., O.B.E./minister of Ardgay and Croick/for 11 years/who died on 24th January 1959/aged 71 years/and of his wife/ROSE ADELAIDE SULLIVAN/who died at Dornoch/on 30th December 1967.
He giveth his beloved sleep.

1887: John MacDougall was born at GLASGOW 7 October 1887. son of John MacDougall and Agnes Keir.
1909 -1913: He was educated at Bellahouston Academy and Glasgow University, where he graduated M.A. in 1909 taking B.D. in 1913.
1913 - 1914: He was licensed by the Presbytery of Paisley and acted as missionary at GIFFNOCK from March 1913 to Dec 1914.
1915 - 1918 After being a short time assistant at Shettleston he was ordained to
Cross and Burness parish, ORKNEY on 21st July 1915 - Dec 1918
He transferred to Wick on 11th December 1918.
1918 - 1929 Old Parish Kirk, WICK.
of study has been the Makers or Builders of the early Christian Church. Every year the session has included a social meeting of the class which has been largely attended, well conducted, and much enjoyed by the young people.
1922: The Temperance movement in Wick town had his warmest support, and it was largely through his advocacy, along with most of the other ministers, that the town went dry.
In 1922 he published "The Modern Conflict; Light from the Epistle of St. James, " which got very favourable reviews.
1929 - 1948 St Michaels Parish Church, Edinburgh.
1945: On 14 June 1945 in St James's Palace London SW1, John MacDougall was awarded O.B.E. It was for services during the WW2 with Huts and Canteens Service.
1948 until his death he was minister in Ardgay and Croick and lived in the manse Ardgay.
Rose Adelaide Sullivan was born in Portsmouth.
