Old Urray Burial Ground

Situated within flat farmland close to the junction of the rivers Conon and Orrin. It lies off the Muir of Ord - Marybank road. Access is via Druimorrin Caravan park (as a courtesy, contact the site owner to let them know that you will be visiting the site.....01997-433566).


More recent burials in Urray parish are at Urray West about two miles from Old Urray on the road to Muir of Ord.

I visited this Burying Ground recently while on holiday from New Zealand, using your instructions re The caravan park. Thank you. My Gt Grandparents have no headstone. I presume that they are buried here--Helen/ Ellen Mcmillan d 1915. Donald Gordon d 1924, dau. Johann Gordon d 1917 and second wife Joan McEwan and would like to know in which part of the lovely old area, if possible. Thank you again.

I wish i could have found this website 4years ago. Id taken my Canadian nephew to look for my Grandparents grave and also Gt Grandparents grave. My cousins sent me to to Urray West!! They lived in the Muir where they worked as blacksmiths. George Cameron died in 1932 married 9/12/1890 to Catherine Mc Donald, died approx 1935. GtGrandparents were William James Cameron, Married to Isabella Mc Gregor 28/11/1858
