In memory of/JAMES GAIR/ist Cameron Highlanders/who died in Kronstadt Hospital/South Africa/3 January 1901 aged 28.
This stone is erected/by a loving mother's last wish/at the grave of his father/JAMES GAIR/who died at Hill of Fearn in July 1896/and his mother/HELEN SUTHERLAND/who died on 22 May 1904.
