In loving memory of/GEORGE MACKENZIE gardener/died 14th Jan. 1908 aged 85/his wife MARY MACKENZIE/died 19th Sept. 1876 aged 42/and is interred in Suddie/their daughter CHRISTINA/died 17th June 1893 aged 33/their son DONALD STRACHAN/died Aug. 1890 aged 24/WILLIAM JOHN died 24th Jan. 1898 aged 29/MURDO died 11th July 1905 aged 35/and is interred in Edinburgh/also their daughter FANNY/beloved wife of THOMAS SKINNER/who died at Inverness/25th Decr 1932 aged 58/intered in Tomnahurich Cemetery.

Fanny MacKenzie and Thomas Skinner are my great aunt and great uncle. I don't know any of Fanny's family so if anyone is related to these MacKenzie's I would like to get in touch. Incidently there is a mistake here, Fanny was 58 when she died not 98, as she was born in 1874. There was a lot of sadness in this family-her siblings died young, her mother died young, she died on Christmas Day having seen her 2 year old son and 9 year old daughter die of diphtheria. Her husband and youngest daughter both survived till a good age.
