Erected by/ALEXANDER ROSS, Fearn/in memory/of/his two beloved sons/Private JAMES ROSS/killed 12 June 1918 age/24 years/and DUNCAN Signaller/killed Aug. 22 1917 age/20/both seaforth Highlanders/killed in action in/the Great War.

James Ross, Private James S/5168, "C" Coy. 1st Bn. Seaforth Highlanders. 12th June 1918 age 24 Son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Ross, of Steel Cottage, Hill-of-Fearn, Ross-shire. Previously wounded in France and Mesopotamia. Panel 45. JERUSALEM MEMORIAL.

Duncan Ross, Private 201983 8th Bn. Seaforth Highlanders, 22nd August 1917 age 20. Son of Alexander and Isabella Ross, of Steel Cottage, Hill-of-Fearn, Ross-shire. Panel 132 to 135 and 162A. TYNE COT MEMORIAL.
