In/affectionate remembrance/of/Revd CHARLES CALDER/MACKINTOSH D.D
Descended on both sides/from godly and able ministers/He was surpassed by none in purity of doctrine/clearness and spirituality in exposition of the wod/loving earnestness of care for souls/depth of personal experience and/humble and prayful watchfulnes of holy walk.
He was born at Tain 5th Oct 1806/was ordained as colleague of his father/Dr ANGUS MACKITOSH in 1828/laboured as minister/of the established church Tain till 1843/the realtor of the Free Church Tain till 1854/when health necessitated removal to/the lighter charge of Dunoon/He died at Pau in France 24th Novr 1868.

In loving memory of/The Reverend CHARLES CALDER MACKINTOSH D.D./born at Tain in Scotland/5th October 1805/died at Pau in the 41st year of his ministry/24th November 1868.
From his ordination till 1843/he was a minister of the Established Church/and afterwards of the Free Church of Scotland/26 years at Tain/14 years at Dunoon.
Blessed are the dead which die in the LORD/from henceforth yea saith the Spirit that they/may rest from their labours and their works/do follow them.
