George & Janet were married in 16 July 1846, at Lillerean.They had 2 sons & 5 daughters.Jessie their oldest child, born at Newton in 1849, never married. Jessie died in 1917. Catherine, the youngest child, born at Newton in 1862, also never married. Catherine died in 1923.

I have managed to discover that George had a brother Alexander, he married Mary Urquhart on 17-01-1846.Also brother William, a grocer, married Ann Morrison on 09-10-1847.
