Colin & Eizabeth (Paterson) Davidson.
In memory/of/COLIN DAVIDSON/ship-owner and merchant in/Inverness/where he resided during a long/useful and exemplary life and/where as a Magistrate, a citizen/a man of business and a constant Christian character/he enjoyed the deep and universal esteem of the/community. By the blessing of God on/his industry and conscientious integrity/he amassed a considerable fortune/which in the catholic spirit of the/gospel he freely dispersed in charity/to the afflicted poor especially to/those of the household of faith/and in liberal gifts to many Christian/agencies at home and abroad. He/was born in the Parish of Knockbain/and died at Inverness on the 30th/December 1869 and was interred/in this spot on the 3rd January 1870/also in memory of/ELIZABETH PATERSON/his wife eminently a witness for/the truth and a devoted fellow/worker with him in the cause/of christ. she died in the Lord on the 12th July 1868 and was interred/here on the 16th.
