Achanalt Burial Grounds

Achanalt comprises a few houses by the station on the railway line between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh. It lies on the A832 road in Strath Bran a few miles west of Garve. This is an area of sparse population and large estates.

The older burial ground, Cnoc na Bhain, is above the road. Opposite it, below the road, is the more recent burial ground. Cnoc na Bhain is indicated by a roadside direction-sign, as the burial site of the pioneer aviator, Captain Bertram Dickson.

If travelling by car, park in the layby, about 150m to the east of the road sign.
