The way of all living the habitation/of the dead/This stone is placed here by WILL/IAM ROSS farm servant at Nonikiln/to the memory of his beloved spouse/HELLEN GUNN who departed this/life on the 7 April 1843, aged 30 years/also to the memory of their eldest daughter/JANE, who died 17 April 1838, aged 1 year/of their son ALEXANDER/who died/3 February 1844 aged 2 years and of their/yougest daughter JANE who died/13 June 1844 aged 8 months.
Dear husband be content For to/you I was but lent the dept is paid/my grave you see prepare yourself/to follow me.
