James Henry Bisset.

To the memory of/JAMES HENRY BISSET/for 30 years head master/of Fodderty Public School/born 4th October 1846, died 6th August 1903/and interred at Forgan, Fife.



This monument is placed here by/many of his old pupils and friends/in grateful appreciation of/his sterling and upright character/his faithful work as a teacher/and the many sevices /he unselfishly rendered/to his neighbours/and to the community.

James Henry Bisset was my great great uncle. I have his dates as slightly different to the above: according to my esearch, he was born 4.10.1845 (not 1846) and died 9.8.1903 (not 6.10.1903. He never married and lived with his unmarried sister, Elizabeth, as his housekeeper.
