Roddie we have a query on his name FERGUS. We understand that he was called JOHN FRANCIS SUTHERLAND, M.D., F.R.S.E. Because we can not put url in this comment you will have to google it yourself. Scotspeople website do not have a John Fergus Sutherland for 1864 to 1911 as well. Can you please confirm by sending me a photo of his middle name. Thank you very much for all your help from his relations in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Mea culpa, Rosana. I can see from the above image that it is Francis, not Fergus. Unfortunately I cannot send a better photo as I had a data loss on an external drive and much of the archive has gone.
