Erected/by/the family/in loving memory/of their father/JAMES MACKENZIE/farmer, Kildonan/who died 28th March 1867/aged 70 years/of their brother/JOHN MACKENZIE/who died 22nd April 1868/aged 19 years/and of their mother/BARBARA MACKENZIE/who died 14th October 1904/aged 78 years.

The 3rd child of Barbara and James was Alexander MacKenzie born 1852 at Kildonan, died 1937, married 1886 at Dorie, Coigach to Catherine Campbell, born 1859 at Dorie, daughter of merchant Alexander Campbell and Jessie MacKenzie who had married July 4, 1848. Jessie was the daughter of Simon MacKenzie, merchant of Stornoway.
Alexander MacKenzie and Catherine(Campbell)MacKenzie immigrated to New Zealand in 1914.Alexander and Catherine's 3rd child Alexander Fraser MacKenzie born 1888 in "Kildonan on the shores of Little Loch Broom", died 1950, immigrated to the Hawkes Bay area of New Zealand at the age of 12 with his parents. Alexander Fraser MacKenzie married 1823 Iris Kathleen Ross whom are the parents of Jock Ross MacKenzie born 1926, died March 17, 2004 in Hastings, New Zealand, Joint Commissioner and Lieutenant to Cabarfeidh Clan MacKenzie of New Zealand until his death. Jock Ross MacKenzie married Sonia Hansen October 13, 1957.Sonia worked many years on the Findon Tables for Clan MacKenzie and is still prominent in Clan MacKenzie New Zealand.
