My Great Grandmother was Christina Macrae (married to Ewen Cameron) a sister of John Macrae, solicitor, Dingwall. Therefore, John Macrae and Catherine Mackintosh are my great great,grand parents.I am interested to learn if the father of my great great grandfather was a soldier at the Battle of Corunna North Western Spain, Peninsular War 16th Jan 1809.I remember my grandfather James Cameron of Bottacks Achterneed intimating when I was a young lad that a forbear of his fought under Sir John Moore in this battle an allegedly fell in love with a Spanish girl and took her home, as his wife.
